Fossil was founded in 1984 at a time when watches were created for function rather than fashion. The company sought to fill this void in the market and began designing watches to act as a fashion accessory. Fossil incorporated a fifties Americana design into the brand image in an attempt to target value driven consumers. The concept paid off and Fossil quickly emerged as the leader of a growing industry. Today Fossil produces over three hundred different styles of watches in a line which continually changes.

Fossil's renowned designers constantly study emerging fashion trends to bring consumers the most innovative and unique products on the market to date. After augmenting the watch selection choice for consumers, Fossil expanded its selection to other fashionable accessory items. Fossil introduced small leather goods in 1992 for men and women. Wallets, belts, key chains and backpacks helped Fossil establish its expertise in leather goods. In 1995, Fossil moved into the eyewear market introducing uniquely designed sunglasses creatively capturing the Fossil image. In addition, the company began opening a group of outlet stores nationwide creating its own discontinued distribution channel. In 1996, Fossil.com was launched becoming one of the first on-line retailers and began opening several company-owned accessory stores. During 2000, Fossil introduced its first line of apparel, launching it both on-line as well as through several larger format company-owned stores. This move represented just one more step in Fossil's effort to strengthen the accessory market with innovative style and quality aiding the company in its continued growth. Invicta Watch Company of America has enjoyed tremendous growth and success since its inception. This can be attributed to the background and philosophy of its president and founder, Mr. Eyal Lalo.

Eyal's knowlegde and expertise has greatly benefited from being the third generation of a family which has been intimately involved in the watch industry for the last fifty years. Through this collective experience, Eyal was able to identify and focus on areas that he felt have been ignored by other name brand watches in the market. Mainly, the ability to provide the best quality products and designs, at the most reasonable price; thereby attracting consumers capable of recognizing a great value. This prompted the creation of Invicta Watch Company of America, in 1991, and it has been the driving force behind the company's products and service ever since. In 2000, Eyal was joined full-time, by his sister, Gany Cohen, to head up the marketing and new business efforts. Invicta uncompromising quality and its responsiveness to customers have undoubtedly made it one of the fastest growing companies in the watch industries. All Invicta timepieces are manufactured under the most demanding standards and are subjected to a rigorous quality control process. With every watch it manufactures (more than 750 different styles to choose from), Invicta provides the assurance that only the best components, compared to any other watch in its class, have been utilized.

The company's watches are manufactured in Switzerland and Japan and are marketed under the Invicta and Activa Brands in the United States, Canada, South and Central America, Europe, Middle and Far East East, through more than one thousand retailers. Visit the Invicta website

The company was founded in 1917 by the brothers Schlup. 1957, after 40 years as a supplier of watch movements, the firm launched its first collection under the brand name Rado. And only five years later Rado laid, with the legendary oval DiaStar - the world's first scratchproof watch - the foundation stone for an exceptional success story. In 1983 Rado became member of the then formed SMH Group which has recently been renamed to The Swatch Group of Companies of Switzerland, the biggest watch conglomerate in the world.

For Rado, design means the 'outer expression of an inner perfection.' Nevertheless, Rado does not regard itself as a producer of 'design watches', rather as a watch brand with an individualistic design. Unpretentious, clear-lined, modern, innovative, stylistically pure - these are descriptive of the qualities that characterise Rado design. The art of limitation to the essentials dominates the development of every Rado. But even as far as materials are concerned, Rado chooses to go its own way: whilst other brands use conventional materials like gold, brass or steel, Rado goes for materials of the future such as hardmetal, sapphire crystal, high-tech ceramics, high-tech lanthanum or high-tech diamond. And this is always in the endeavour to develop design/material combinations that unite in perfect harmony the double functions of the watch as a modern piece of jewellery and a functional timepiece.

Rado watches are different. Different in form and different in the materials they are made from. Since the beginning, Rado has not only concentrated on developing beautiful watches - the factor of material has always been at the forefront too. The aim has been, and still is, to create watches that are beautiful and that stay beautiful. Watches that are not made from gold, brass or steel, as in conventional watch manufacture, but from innovative materials like hardmetal, sapphire crystal, high-tech ceramics, high-tech diamond or high-tech lanthanum. Materials with much more than just average resistance, a unique brilliance and - of course - the legendary Rado scratchproofness. Visit the Rado website

In 1892, Seikosha Co., Ltd., the Seiko Group's first manufacturing division, was established to make wall clocks.
